The Glory of God in Bedhead

I’m not a famous actor nor a world class athlete. I haven’t written any world changing books or held any sort of office. One thing though God has given me is intense bed-head. You know the kind where it looks like two squirrels have spent 24 hours in an octagon on your head, that’s my do in the morning. It’s really fascinating. So the other morning I was overwhelmed with everything. Government bail-outs, economic crisis, market crashes, war, hurricanes, and the general plight of humanity in this life. I sat down at my computer to write in my journal and felt the mountain of hair on my head shift, making me aware that God had gifted my skull with a masterpiece through the evening. I opened up photo booth on my Mac and began to take glamour shots. After five minutes of posing I found myself cracking up. In the midst of confusion, fear, pain, frustration God had gifted me that morning with laughter, joy, silliness, and a child-like experience. I sat and pondered for a moment how it’s the most miniscule joys of life, the missed moments of hilarity, that God gives us to keep us sane, to tell us He’s there, He cares, He knows. To sum the morning up God brought Himself, His glory, His goodness, His grace into my life that morning via the monstrosity on my head. In the aftermath of this epiphany I’ve pondered putting together a Dan Braga Bed-Head collection, possibly a calendar complete with Halloween Bed-Head, Thanksgiving and Christmas Bed Heads, and a New Year’s eve bed-head to kick off the new year. I may not be Brad Pitt or John McCain, I definitely don’t carry the literary genius of Twain nor can I throw a football like Hasselback but God brought me closer to Himself through my bed-head. This may be a small contribution to humanity in the midst of it’s difficulty but it’s what I’ve got. May God be glorified and you’re welcome.

Hey I think those calendars would be a great fundraiser! :)

or a FUN raiser.

You should see Danny’s bed head on a mission trip. I bet it’s even more intense than on a regular morning. It truly is a gift though. One that only God Himself can bless somebody with! Thanks for the lighthearted humor.

Love you Danny.

I thought you were Brad Pitt. Isn’t that what you’ve always said. You can definitely count on the Catherman’s to purchase a calendar. Go Danny!
